This “Fact Sheet” of the U.S. Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) presents summaries of the fiscal year (FY) 2022 funding opportunities offered by various BJA programs to Native American tribal justice systems.

 

Abstract

BJA’s overall mission is to help America’s state, local, and tribal jurisdictions reduce and prevent crime, lower recidivism, and promote a fair and safe criminal justice system. The following BJA program offerings for FY 2022 focus on their relevance to tribal justice systems. The offerings pertain to the following BJA programs: 1) Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (closed 3/22/2022); 2) Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program (closes 6/17/2022); 3) Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program (closes 6/1/2022); 4) Improving Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Outcomes for Adults in Reentry (closes 6/1/2022); 5) Community-based Reentry Program (closes 5/23/2022); 6) Pay for Success Initiative (closes 6/21/2022); 7) Improving Reentry Education and Employment Outcomes Program (closes 6/13/2022); 8) Veterans Treatment Court Discretionary Grant Program (closes 5/25/2022); 9) Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program (closes 5/25/2022); 10) Community Courts Initiative (closes 6/27/2022); 11) Swift, Certain, and Fair (SCF) Supervision Program: Applying the Principles Behind Project HOPE (closes 5/25/2022); 12) Community Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (closes 6/21/2022); 13) Preventing Violence Against Law Enforcement Officers and Ensuring Officer Resilience and Survivability (VALOR) Initiative (closes 5/25/2022); 14) Preventing School Violence: BJA’s STOP School Violence Program (closes 6/21/2022); and 15) Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program to Support Law Enforcement Agencies (closes 5/25/2022).
