Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $792,701)

The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services (SCDPPPS). will increase the effectiveness of domestic violence and sex offender specialized caseloads by enhancing supervision strategies through the Swift, Certain and Fair supervision principles to reduce recidivism and improve supervision outcomes. SCDPPPS will pilot this program in Anderson, Greenville, and York counties. SCDPPPS will increase the timeliness of the sanctions administered to ensure individuals connect the sanction to their behavior; utilize specialized caseload specific violation matrices to ensure that sanctions and rewards are applied with consistency and predictability; and enhance the current violation process to ensure incentives are utilized to reward appropriate behavior.
