Next Chance to Improve Employment and Connection Services

Volunteers of America Texas proposes Next Chance, an initiative that will expand its robust reentry programming for men and women within the Dallas-Fort Worth area to include the development and implementation of career pathways in that will enhance independent living and financial stability to reduce recidivism in the target population. The purpose of the project is to improve employment outcomes through job readiness assessment, individualized case management and career planning, and implementing a robust array of educational, occupational, and transitional supports with a focus on meeting local labor market demand. Programming will benefit 225 individuals returning to the Tarrant and Dallas counties after serving a sentence within the Lew Sterrett Justice Center in Dallas or within a Residential Reentry Center.
