Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $300,000)

The Enhancing Adult Drug Court Services, Coordination, and Treatment Grant Program is designed to assist states, state courts, local courts, counties, other units of local government, or Indian tribal governments to implement comprehensive strategies for enhancing drug court capacity by bridging access to both criminal justice and substance abuse treatment funds. The program supports the development and establishment of drug courts for substance-abusing adults and that enhance drug court services, coordination, and substance abuse treatment and recovery support services. Drug court programs funded by the Enhancing Adult Drug Court Services, Coordination, and Treatment Grant Program are required by law to target nonviolent criminal offenders.

Cowlitz County will use the enhancing adult drug court services, coordination, and treatment grant to enhance case management, treatment, and recovery support services for additional drug court clients. Cowlitz County will also use funds to evaluate their drug court program as well as provide culturally relevant training for the drug court team members. CA/NCF
