The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is pleased to announce the FY25 De-escalation and Crisis Response Training Program, a new FY25 Notice of Funding Opportunity to develop, implement or expand de-escalation and crisis response training programs that improve law enforcement responses to and outcomes for individuals in crisis who have behavioral health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or traumatic brain injuries.

Through the De-escalation and Crisis Response Training Program, law enforcement and correctional agencies, including correctional facilities, probation and parole departments, and sheriff’s departments, can equip officers with tactical skills, strategies, and technology to effectively de-escalate and handle crisis situations, enhance safety, and protect officer wellbeing.

Eligible applicants, including state, local, and tribal government entities, as well as others that support eligible applicants, are invited to attend the webinar, where presenters will discuss the purpose and goals of the funding opportunity, review eligibility requirements, and address frequently asked questions.

Speakers:

  • Deirdra Assey, BJA Policy Advisor
  • Umer Malik, BJA Grants Management Specialist
