Tribal justice

This program is designed to improve school safety by providing students, teachers, and staff with the tools they need to recognize, respond quickly to, and prevent acts of violence.

This program assists state, local, and tribal jurisdictions in preventing and reducing intellectual property (IP) theft and related crime as well as supporting law enforcement in investigating and prosecuting IP crimes and reducing violent crime associated with IP cases and investigations.

Through this opportunity, the Office of Justice Programs seeks to prevent and reduce violent crime in communities by supporting comprehensive, evidence-based community-based violence intervention and prevention programs.

This program supports small and rural agencies in their efforts to combat violent crime through the implementation of a comprehensive violent crime reduction strategy.

This program supports law enforcement, correctional officers, probation and parole, and sheriff’s departments in effectively partnering with mental health, substance use, community service professionals and agencies to promote public safety and make sure that appropriate responses are provided to individuals in crisis who have behavioral health conditions, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or traumatic brain injuries.

This program provides grants to improve the capacity and effectiveness of probation and parole agencies to increase supervision success rates by more effectively addressing individuals’ risk and needs and reducing recidivism.

This program provides training and technical assistance to those who prevent, investigate, and respond to crimes that use wireless devices.

This program supports efforts by both wrongful conviction review entities that represent individuals with postconviction claims of innocence to review individual cases, and conviction integrity or review units to enhance criminal justice system integrity.

This program supports comprehensive community-based approaches to addressing hate crimes that promote community awareness and preparedness, increase victim reporting, and improve responses to hate crimes.

This program seeks to support state, local, and tribal governments, as well as community-based nonprofit organizations, to establish, expand, or improve treatment and recovery support services for people with substance use disorders during their incarceration and upon reentry into the community.

This program provides funding to enhance or implement evidence-based responses to improve reentry, reduce recidivism, and support successful transitional planning for individuals who are currently, or were formerly, involved in the criminal justice system.

This grant program seeks to enhance community supervision agencies’ capacity to help reduce recidivism among, and improve outcomes for, people under supervision by using the swift, certain, and/or fair principles of intervention.

The goal of this program is for prosecutorial agencies to incorporate innovative or evidence-based prosecution strategies as a fundamental component of their efforts to reduce crime and ensure public safety.
