This issue of the National Gang Center newsletter contains five articles for use by parents, service providers, and policymakers for dealing with gang-related issues. The first article, Gang Member Reentry: Probation and Parole Perspectives, presents highlights of interviews with APPA (American Probation and Parole Association) members. The second article, Parents' Guide to Gangs, provides parents with information needed for recognizing and preventing gang involvement within their community. The third article, OJJDP Comprehensive Gang Model Training, discusses a framework for coordinated action that improves a community's capacity to respond to gangs. The fourth article, Global: Collaboration and Information Sharing for Better Juvenile Justice, discusses the need to partner and share information about youth. The fifth article, Stay Current and Keep Informed, contains a set of resources provided by OJJDP (Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention) and BJA (Bureau of Justice Assistance) to help officials stay informed about new publications, upcoming events, and funding opportunities.
